A flood warning has been issued for the next 24 hours along the Nilwala River.
The National Disaster Management Center says that there is a possibility of minor flooding in the low lying areas of Nilwala river valley in Kotapola, Pitabeddara, Akurassa, Athuraliya, Malimbada, Thihagoda, Matara and Devinuwara Divisional Secretariat Divisions.
The center requests the residents of the area and the drivers of vehicles driving through the area to pay close attention to this.
