A Civil Defense Force soldier who went to a forested area of Thanthirimale Katupotha to cut sticks was attacked by a bear and admitted to Anuradhapura Hospital yesterday.
G Chandrapala, a Civil Defense Force soldier, is a resident of Thanthirimale, Ruwanpura. He is 45 years old.
Tanthirimalaya police said that the bear attacked the civil defense personnel while they were cutting sticks, causing scratches on his face and the front part of his body.
