Comments and suggestions are requested for the making of the Anti-Terrorism Bill

The Ministry of Justice has decided to seek suggestions and comments regarding the Anti-Terrorism Bill.

Minister of Justice Wijayadasa Rajapaksa mentioned that any person including political parties and civil organizations will have the opportunity to do so.

Time is given for it till 30th of May and they can submit their proposals to the Ministry of Justice.

Taking all those proposals into consideration, the future work on the new Anti-Terrorism Bill will be decided and several rounds of discussions have also been planned before that.

Justice Minister Wijayadasa Rajapaksa also said that the new Anti-Terrorism Bill will be submitted to the Parliament in a manner acceptable to all.

The anti-terrorism bill was published by the government in the gazette recently and there were objections from some parties.

Accordingly, Justice Minister Wijayadasa Rajapaksa took steps to temporarily stop the submission of the relevant bill to Parliament.
