A ship carrying another million eggs arrived at Colombo last night (20th) from India, says the ️Sri Lanka State Trading (General) Corporation.
Its chairman Mr. Asiri Walisundara mentioned that the samples will be taken today (21) by the Department of Animal Production and Health.
He also says that 05 million eggs have been imported to this country from India.
Meanwhile, the samples of the egg stock that reached the island on the 15th were obtained yesterday by the Department of Animal Production and Health and the reports are to be received in another 4 days.
He also said that the eggs will be continuously released to large-scale bakery owners and hotel owners at a price of 35 rupees.
