Dr. Saman Ratnayake, Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Health, says that the shortage of medicines in this country is gradually disappearing.
He pointed out that about a month ago, more than 170 types of medicines were in short supply in this country, but now that number has come down to less than a hundred.
Dr. Saman Rathnayake also said that provision has been made for the purchase of 60 types of medicine that are in short supply in hospitals in this country.
