A suspect who was arrested by a group of officers of the Kurunegala Police Anti-Corruption Division smashed a glass bottle on the ground inside the police station and cut his throat with a piece of glass.
The 29-year-old suspect was arrested by the officers of the anti-corruption department at Galwala, Kurunegala, yesterday evening. That is along with 1050 mg of heroin.
The police say that while the police officers were preparing documents to arrest the suspect who was brought to the police station handcuffed, he picked up a glass bottle on the desk of the police station officer, hit it on the ground and cut his throat with a broken glass shell.
The police also say that his condition is not serious and he is currently being treated at the Kurunegala Hospital.
