A Canadian man who came to Sri Lanka on a tourist visa and overstayed his visa and was arrested and kept in the Welisara detention center died yesterday while receiving treatment at the Welisara hospital.
After being arrested by immigration officials, this Canadian national was admitted to the Welisara Chest Hospital due to an illness that occurred while he was being kept at the Welisara detention center. He died while undergoing treatment in the hospital.
