The Criminal Investigation Department has arrested another follower of a politician who broke into a garment factory in Katana coffee plantation and assaulted its owner, the Omani managing director.
This attack happened on the last 30th.
The suspect who has been arrested by the officers of the Criminal Investigation Department is a 38-year-old man who is engaged in the fishery industry.
Before this, the Criminal Investigation Department has also arrested three businessmen on suspicion of this attack. They are also disciples of a politician.
This group had attacked 55-year-old Alfan Sali Said Obaydani, the managing director of the garment factory, and a security officer.
Before this, three residents of Katana were arrested by Badalgama police officers for this attack. Badalgama Police stated that only one more suspect is to be arrested.
The attack had also become a diplomatic issue. There was a heated debate about this in the parliament. Because of this, by order of the President, the Inspector General of Police assigned the investigation to the Criminal Investigation Department. The Omani had mentioned that the garment factory will be removed from the country if a fair investigation is not done.
