Yesterday, the Kandy Police arrested 06 people who behaved violently and attacked a police officer who tried to stop a conflict during a musical show held in a Kandy hotel.
This attack happened on the last 09th.
The police initially announced that a police constable was admitted to Peradeniya Hospital after he slipped and fell while trying to settle a dispute between two parties.
However, 06 suspects were arrested by the police yesterday in relation to the allegations of assaulting the police officer and riotous behavior.
The arrested suspects include a 23-year-old student, three businessmen, an institution manager and a sports coach, police said. These people are between 27 and 30 years old. They are residents of Kandy, Peradeniya and Iginiyagala.
