The number of people buying fuel through the QR code has suddenly increased

Energy Minister Mr. Kanchana Wijesekera said today (13) that with the temporary suspension of fuel distribution at 66 filling stations that distributed fuel without scanning the QR code, refueling through the QR code has increased by 20%.

During the last week, he pointed out that the local fuel sales and provision via QR code have grown significantly.

Accordingly, after the temporary suspension of fuel sales at 66 filling stations, the minister also pointed out that fuel sales have increased by more than 80% through scanning the QR code, which was around 60% before.

Daily fuel delivery has been increased for the next few days according to the fuel demand during the festive season.

Accordingly, 4,650 metric tons of 92-petrol and 5,500 metric tons of auto diesel will be released and distributed daily, the minister said.
