Former High Court Judge Mrs. Kusala Sarojani says that the amount of more than 10 million dollars received from the international community from the last 10 years to the Sri Lanka Football Federation is approximately 2% of the amount that has been spent for the welfare of football and players.

Also, more than 30 cases of fraud and corruption have been revealed in the investigations carried out by the committee appointed to look into the administrative and financial problems of the Sri Lanka Football Federation.

According to the powers given to Sports Minister Mr. Roshan Ranasinghe to look into the administrative and financial problems of the Sri Lanka Football Federation, a five-member committee headed by former High Court Judge Ms. Kusala Sarojani was appointed.

The report prepared by the said committee has been handed over to the Minister of Sports and a brief introduction has been made about its content.

The committee members point out that there has been no progress in the country’s major sports in the past 10 years, and sports such as football, cricket, and rugby have sadly regressed from their former status.

They said in this discussion that the administrators of the sports associations are directly responsible for this and a person who studies this report can clearly see it.

The minister said that the investigation report will be carefully studied and the necessary background will be built to implement its recommendations very quickly.
