The government fulfilled a request made by the opposition and lawyers

Minister of Justice Dr. Wijedasa Rajapaksa says that considering the demands made by the opposition and lawyers, the presentation of the Anti-Terrorism Bill to Parliament has been postponed.

He mentioned that it will be decided to submit this bill to the Parliament a day after the Parliament meeting on April 25.

Accordingly, the Minister expresses confidence that it will be possible to present this to Parliament in the first week of May.

The minister further stated that the opposition and lawyers have requested that the relevant bill should be studied and brought before the Supreme Court.
