    Professor Sanath Nandasiri said goodbye to life, leaving the Sri Lankan Music Field

    Professor Sanath Nandasiri, who gifted many creation to the Sri Lankan music field, has passed away today (28).

    Singer Sanath Nandasiri was born on February 15, 1942 and was 81 years old when he died.

    Mr. Sanath Nandasiri, the third child born to parents Herath Mudiansela William Perera and Dona Amalin Katugampala, is an alumnus of Gothatuwa Central College and St. Matthew’s College.

    Mr. Sanath Nandasiri, who started music at the age of 14, later got the opportunity to work on radio as a child artist and in 1960, went to the Bhatkhande Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya in India to learn music.

    Mr. Sanath Nandasiri, who came back to Sri Lanka in 1965, started his singing career on the radio and also started his career as a music teacher consultant at Uhana Vidyalaya, Ampara, after being selected to the University of Visual and Performing Arts.

    During this time, he met his wife Malkanthi on the radio. Their beloved son died shortly after birth and their daughter Nishamani Anuradha came forward in the music industry to fill that void.
