After Mr. Ranil Wickramasinghe spoke in Parliament about the IMF loan facility, he left the gate of the ruling party and went straight to the opposition.
Even then, the leader of the opposition, Sajith, was discussing some matter with his group of MPs.
“Ah.. how are you?” The president asked in his usual tone.
The opposition members were surprised.
“Now you don’t even come to this side,” said an opposition member.
“I am coming, but you are avoiding me,” the president said again.
The party requested by the President
“Now, when will you give us a party?” The President asked MP Marikkar.
“What party, sir?” dazed Marikkar asked the president.
“Why? the party for removal of Mujibur Rahman from the parliament?” everyone including the opposition leader laughed to what the president said.
“You also please support the IMF program. You know the value of this.” The President requested the opposition.
Opposition Leader Sajith laughed but did not participate in this conversation.
Wimal – Udaya came to the government side
Members of Parliament Mr. Wimal Weerawansa and Mr. Udaya Gammanpila hurriedly boarded the elevator last Wednesday to enter the parliamentary session.
The two of them felt something strange when the elevator door opened. By mistake, both of them had come towards the ruling party side.
” Ah…come…come. You too come to this side. Listen to the speech of the President,” said a member of the ruling party who was there when the elevator door opened.
“No… no this is a mistake.”
