The officers of the Criminal Investigation Department’s Katunayake Airport Unit yesterday arrested three passengers, including two women, along with 315 grams of gold worth over Rs. 6 million brought illegally from India.
The Criminal Investigation Department said that the two women among the three passengers came from Chennai, India are businesswomen.
The Criminal Investigation Department states that these two women are residents of Mahara, Kadawatha, and Kadawatha Biyanwila. They are 37 and 35 years old.
The third is a 31-year-old resident of Vauxhall Street, Colombo 02.
