Arjuna Hettiarachchi, the Chairman of the Sri Lanka Agency on the burnt Express Pearl, who was wanted on the instructions of the Attorney General, has appeared before the CID this morning (16).

On the advice of the Attorney General, several teams of CID officers had been operating for several days to arrest members of the Board of Directors of the Shipping Agency, including the Chairman. However, CID officials have so far been unable to arrest any of the board members. The CID said the board members were in hiding.

Meanwhile, the lawyer who appeared on behalf of the chairman of the shipping agency during the hearing of the complaint on the Colombo Magistrate’s Court yesterday (15) stated that his client will appear to the CID.
