The National Movement for the Protection of People’s Rights has requested the people across the country to turn off all the lights at 7 pm tomorrow (20).
It is as an outcry against the recent electricity bill increase.
“Turn off the trip switch in your home at 7 pm tomorrow. Avoid using lights and appliances. Stay away from the grid. We will symbolically popularize that influence.” said Mr. Anuruddha Somathunga, convener of the National Movement for the Protection of People’s Rights.
Meanwhile, protests were held yesterday in several areas demanding to revise the increased electricity bill.
