There are plans to introduce specific controlled prices for some essential medicines.
Health Minister Mr. Keheliya Rambukwella says that a committee consisting of expert doctors has been appointed for that purpose.
Mr. Keheliya Rambukwella is said to have instructed to hand over the relevant report to him within two weeks.
Such control prices are to be introduced for essential medicines including diabetes and heart diseases.
Mr. Keheliya Rambukwella said that the decision has been taken considering the continuous increase in the prices of drugs in the market.
