Two offices of Sri Lanka Public Utilities Commission Chairman Mr. Janaka Rathnayake located in the Kollupitiya Merchant Tower building were sealed and provided with police protection today on a court order.
The Kollupitiya Police had taken steps to seal two offices on the sixth and seventeenth floors.
This sealing has taken place according to a court order obtained from the Fort Magistrate’s Court after reporting the facts regarding some confidential information received by the 119 Police Emergency Call Section.
It is said in the information that some people are preparing to remove or destroy some important documents related to national security in these two offices.
Mr. Janaka Ratnayake is currently abroad. After his return to Sri Lanka, the police are ready to open the relevant office and check the documents there.
