02 STF officers were caught with drugs

A police special task force sergeant and a worker of the special task force who were distributing drugs on a motorcycle were arrested yesterday evening by a team of Sevanagala police officers.

The 32-year-old police constable named D. S. Dasuntha, who is working at the Special Task Force’s Galanigama highway camp, and the 37-year-old suspect W. A. S. Dilupa, a laborer attached to the Tangalle Special Task Force camp, have been arrested.

According to the information that the two were riding a motorcycle and bringing drugs to Embilipitiya, Sevanagala police officers arrested them while crossing the dam on the C07 canal road at Danduma junction.

06 grams and 30 milligrams of heroin were found in possession of the constable, and 02 grams and 140 milligrams of heroin were found in possession of the worker.

Investigations have revealed that the constable has been using drugs for a long time. It has also been revealed that these two suspects have been engaged in drug distribution for a long time. It has also been revealed that they get drugs from Panadura Pinwatte.
