A father and a daughter who were walking by the side of the road at the Katugastota Jhambugaspitiya junction were killed in a collision with a van yesterday evening.
A father and daughter have died while going home after completing a tutoring class of the daughter.
A. R. Jayarathatna (47) and his daughter A. M. M. Dhananjana (14), who resided in Polgolla, Palleguna, Papane, has died.
The police say that the deceased father was an employee of Ceylon Petroleum Corporation.
The van driver Indraratne Perera (50), who is responsible for this accident, is a resident of Bandaranaikepura, Ragiriya, and has been arrested by the police.
