According to the Ministry of Health, 43 types of anti-cancer drugs which were in short supply were imported into Sri Lanka.
The Ministry of Health said that the stock of medicines received at the port of Colombo has now been sent for customs clearance.
Accordingly, the ministry also announced that the medicines will be distributed to the hospitals in the next few days.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health also stated that about 140 types of essential medicines which are in short supply in this country have been ordered and it is planned to bring them to the island as soon as possible.
