04 boatmen were caught for bringing drugs worth Rs. 2 billion

The Police Narcotics Bureau has revealed that over 100 kilos of heroin valued at over Rs. 2 billion have been brought to land from the southern coast on the 14th.

Police Narcotics Bureau has arrested four people as of yesterday (01) who were on the multi-day vessel that brought this heroin to land along with nearly Rs. 3.9 million.

An investigation by the Police Narcotics Bureau has revealed that the heroin brought from Pakistan had been smuggled to Sri Lanka on that day and had already been distributed.

Investigations have revealed that 06 people were traveling on this multi-day trawler, and they were paid Rs. 3 million each for bringing the drug stock to the land.

The arrested suspects are residents of the Dikwella, Nakulagamuwa, and Unakuruwa areas.
