Extraordinary gazettes related to the upcoming local government elections have been issued.
The Election Commission has issued those gazettes.
Accordingly, it has been stated in the gazette notices that the polling for the local government bodies related to each district will be held on March 9 from 7 am to 4 pm.

80720 candidates are contesting this year’s local government elections.
That is from 58 political parties and 329 independent groups.
This year, the election will be held for the 339 local government bodies other than the Elpitiya Pradeshiya Sabha and the Kalmune Municipal Council.
