Steps have been taken to recruit 26,000 public employee officers as teachers and 3000 Multi-purpose Development Support Officers as regular workers in the Railway Department
This was stated by Dr. Bandula Gunawardena, Cabinet Spokesperson of the Minister of Transport, Highways, and Mass Media while attending the Cabinet press conference held at the Government Information Department today (31).
He pointed out that this will be implemented under the condition that the officials in the public service will fill the existing vacancies in the public service.
Accordingly, the minister further mentioned that the multi-purpose development support officers recruited to the railway department could also enter the promotion and pension system of the railway department based on their qualifications.
