50% of diabetics patients are still undiagnosed

The non-communicable diseases unit of the Ministry of Health states that 50% of diabetes patients are still undiagnosed.

Director Dr. Samindi Samarakoon said that 83% of deaths in the country are caused by non-communicable diseases.

She also mentions that patients get kidney disease or heart attacks due to diabetes not being controlled.

Dr. Samindi Samarakoon, a specialist, points out that if it is not done, it will lead to paralyzing conditions.

She also mentioned that many people do not come to get treatment for non-communicable diseases.
