Sri Lanka Port Authority Trade Unions say that all the employees of Colombo Port will walk away from their services for one hour today (30).
It was in protest against the tax amendments introduced by the government.
They say that there will be no activity at the port from 12.00 pm to 1.00 pm today.
The union said that today’s protest is likely to lead to an entire port strike in the future.
The Public Progressive Workers Union points out that they will implement its future plans according to the government’s response to this action.
