Meteorologists point out that the low pressure area in the South East Bay of Bengal sea area is likely to develop into a depression in the South West Bay of Bengal sea area by January 31, moving towards the northwest.

After that, it is expected to move westward towards north-west and reach the east coast of Sri Lanka on February 01.

Wind speeds will be (40-45) kmph and can increase up to (60-70) kmph in sea areas between (04N – 12 N) and between (85E – 95E).
