Currently, 55 institutions including 50 regional secretariats are providing facilities for obtaining foreign passports online, according to the Department of Immigration and Emigration.
Immigration Controller General Harsha Ilukpitiya mentioned that it is possible to get the foreign passport within 3 days after submitting an application online and going to the relevant regional secretary’s office and giving fingerprints.
Mr. Harsha Ilukpitiya, Controller General of Immigration, stated that a Sri Lankan living abroad will also be facilitated to submit a foreign passport application online by going to the embassy and giving fingerprints.
He also said that there is a new visa program called Golden Paradise.
