    Complaint from Kanchana against the Human Rights Commission

    The Minister of Power and Energy Kanchana Wijesekera, says that he will inform the parliament in writing regarding a statement that officials of the Sri Lanka Human Rights Commission threatened the officials who participated in discussion with the commission and obtained signatures on two documents containing disagreeable matters.

    The minister says that he also informed the president about this.

    The Minister says that the Secretary of the Ministry of Power and Energy informed him that the officials who participated in the discussion with the Commission informed that two members of the Human Rights Commission pressured them to sign two documents that they disagreed with and threatened them with imprisonment.

    The concerned officials who were threatened are seeking legal advice to take action against the officials of the Human Rights Commission, the minister said.

    The Minister also mentioned that they have informed in writing the events that happened during the discussion.
