The Road Development Authority says that due to road carpeting, traffic will be temporarily stopped in one lane of the Colombo-Kandy main road from Warakapola to Ambepussa from the 24th.
The said authority points out that from the 24th to the 1st of February, vehicles will be driving in the relevant section only in one lane.
As a result of this, heavy traffic may occur on the main road from Warakapola to Ambepussa on Colombo-Kandy road, so the police have requested the public to use alternative routes during that time.
Accordingly, vehicles coming from Kandy can come from the Mawanella-Rambukkana road and travel to Kurunegala and pass through Mirigama to Pasyala Junction and move towards Colombo, while vehicles coming from Colombo can come to Mirigama from Pasyala Junction, and travel to Kurunegala from Mirigama and move towards Kandy.
