Sri Lanka Freedom Party Kalutara district leader, former minister Mr. Reginald Cooray, passed away early this morning.
He died early this morning after being hospitalized due to a sudden heart attack during a meeting at a Wadduwa hotel last night (12).
It is said that the meeting was held for the upcoming local government election and to select candidates.
He was 74 years old when he died.
During his decades-long political career, Mr. Reginald Cooray held many government positions such as Governor, Minister, Deputy Minister, Chief Minister, State Corporation Chairman etc.
