A Police Sergeant of the Tangalle Division Crime Investigation Bureau has been suspended for having an affair with the young wife of an imprisoned drug trafficker.
This sergeant also arrested the woman’s husband with drugs. After the husband was remanded in custody, this sergeant met her and scared her and started an affair from the beginning of the investigation.
An investigation has started in this regard based on a complaint made by the woman to Hambantota Deputy Inspector General of Police office.
