Navy captured and brought the trawler to mirissa which went to international seas to bring 200kg of heroin

About 200 kilos of heroin was arrested today (13) in an operation carried out in the Weligama, Polwathumodara area. A multi-day trawler went to the international waters to take over that heroin lot from a Iran ship and later handed over it to the boat at the Sri Lankan coast. Later, the Navy brought that multi-day trawler with six suspects to the Mirissa harbour.

Three kilos of heroin were found while investigating the multi-day trawler. During the investigations it has been revealed that the suspects had stolen 03 1-kilo heroin packs from the sacks while loading them. It has also been revealed that those three kilos of heroin costs over three billion and they were ready to share the money among the people in the boat after selling them.

It has been found that this multi-day trawler was departed from the Kottegoda harbour, Mathara on 11th of May and the small boat was departed 3 days ago. There were only 3 people in that small boat.

The heroin was taken from Pakistan, while the orders were identified as from Kosgoda Sujee and Harakkata who are staying in Dubai.

Another three people were arrested by the Police Narcotics Bureau who were ready to take over the heroin in land. It is also said that there was a supporter of Harakkata among them.

The suspects have been identified as residents of Weligama, Weligama, Dikwella, Kotte, Kotte, Kotte, Kotte, Piliyandara, Mirissa Polwadara and Piliyandala areas who are between the ages of 26 to 43.
