It is said that it was done by its owner Janaka Senadhipathi.
Recently, Mr. Nilanga Dela Bandara, Diyawadana Nilame of the Temple of the Tooth in Kandy, along with Malwathu and Asgiri faction Mahanayake Theros, had informed the President in writing that Mr. Janaka Senadhipathi is engaged in a business of collecting money and gold by deceiving the people by constructing a building similar to Temple of the Tooth in Kandy.
Accordingly, President Ranil Wickramasinghe ordered the Inspector General of Police to investigate the matter immediately and take necessary measures, and a police investigation was also started.
