As the credits roll on the life of Buddhi Wikrama, a titan of the teledrama world, bids farewell to life

Mr. Buddhi Sena Dayarathna Wickrama (Buddhi Wickrama), who was an excellent theater artist, passed away today (05) evening.

He, who has been famous as an actor in stage dramas, teledramas, and cinemas for nearly six decades, is a famous alumnus of Galle Mahinda College.

Buddhi Vikrama starred in almost 20 teledramas, including ‘Amba Yahaluwo’, ‘Du Daruwo’, ‘Kumari Hami’, ‘Hiruta Muwawen’, ‘Palingu Menike’, ‘Pitagamkarayo’, ‘Punchi Hapannu’, ‘Thaaraadevi’, ‘Sonduru Sitaththi’ and ‘Suseema’. This acting talent of his in these teledramas stole the audience’s hearts beyond his stage and cinema performances.

Mr. Buddhi Wickrama entered the cinema with the film ‘Sama’ produced by G. D. L. Perera in 1965 and then contributed to many films including ‘Sadol Kandulu’, ‘Welikathara’, ‘Hara Lakshaya’, ‘Tharanga’, ‘Amme Oba Nisa’, ‘Wana Bambaru’, ‘Anthima Raya’ and ‘Rajya Sewaya Pinisayi’. He was 84 years old at the time of his death and was the father of one child.
