The Ministry of Public Security has foiled an attempt by the Police Headquarters to remove the Commander of the Police Special Task Force, DIG Attorney at Law Varuna Jayasundara, and replace him with another officer.
It has been prepared to appoint Senior Deputy Inspector General of Police Ranmal Kodithuvakku as the Commander of the Police Special Task Force after appointing Mr. Varuna Jayasundara as the head of the Police Narcotics Bureau.
