Najeem Mohomed Imran alias Kanjipaani Imran, who is one of the top drug traffickers in the country, has fled to India on a boat from Thalaimannar.

It was on the last 25th night.

The Indian media had reported information today, citing the Indian security forces, that Kanjipaani had reached Ramanathapuram in Rameswaram, India, on the 25th by sea.

Kanjipaani Imran was in jail from 2019 till the last 20th. Kanjipaani Imran, who was caught by the Dubai Police while at Makadure Madush’s daughter’s party, was arrested by the CID officers after his deportation to Sri Lanka.

Kanjipaani Imran, who was accused of many crimes, including human murder and drug trafficking, has been in prison since then.

Kanjipaani Imran, who the Colombo Magistrate’s Court granted bail on the 20th, left the court premises disguising himself after going to a toilet in the court premises.

The intelligence agencies had warned that Kanjipaani Imran, who was granted bail, would flee to India. As warned, he fled the country, disguising himself as a Muslim woman and going to Mannar after staying in a safe place in Maligawatte.

He fled to India after hiding as a result of a conflict with Dematagoda Ruwan in prison. As soon as Ruwan came out of prison, he also fled the country, fearing that Kanjipani had him killed by his followers. As Kanjipaani also had the same fear, he fled the country in fear of death.

The Indian media also mentioned that the Indian intelligence agencies have warned the South Indian state police to be careful about Kanjipaani Imran and his colleagues who have fled to India.
