A husband who stabbed his wife, who came to Sri Lanka after working in a Middle Eastern country has committed suicide by drinking poison and slitting his throat.
This unfortunate incident occurred yesterday evening in Wegama area of the Gokarella police domain.
A 49-year-old woman named Niluka Wijesundara has been stabbed to death. Her 46-year-old husband, Sunil Shantha, committed suicide. He is a resident of Madirigiriya, Divulankadala.
Police say that these two have been living separately for 17 years. The police investigations have revealed that the murdered wife had come to Sri Lanka on the 4th and that the husband had come from Madigiriya and committed this crime.
