Senior DIG of the Eastern province Rajitha Sri Daminda has given written notification to the DIGs, the Divisional Superintendents of Police of the Eastern province, to immediately stop collecting money from the officers’ monthly remuneration and travel allowances to make unnecessary decorations during the monthly, semi-annual and annual inspections held at police stations, to entertain the police chiefs who come for the inspection.
The Senior Deputy Inspector General of Police has emphasized that if such acts are reported to him or observed in future, disciplinary action will be taken against the police station commanders.
