Sri Lankan Egg Producers Association requests the government to give an opportunity to sell an egg for Rs. 55.
They point out that opportunity to sell the eggs at that price should be given at least until the end of the festive season.
Egg producers say that it costs Rs. 46.90 to produce an egg.
They cite the rise in the price of diesel and the dollar as the reasons for this.
