02 cannabis farms in Thanamalwila were destroyed

After a secret intelligence operation conducted in Thanamalwila for about two weeks by the Central Anti-Corruption Strike Force located in Walane, Panadura, two cannabis fields that were grown in abundance in Thanamalwila reserve area have been raided.

There were a large number of luxuriantly grown cannabis trees in those two cannabis fields of 02 acres and 03 acres. The ganja trees had grown to a height of about 08 feet. In addition, cannabis nurseries have also been found. The Anti-Corruption Force stated that 10,420 cannabis plants in the nursery were uprooted and destroyed.

During the raid on these two cannabis fields, two people who were looking after the two fields were also arrested. As calculated, there were cannabis trees worth around Rs. 50 million in these two fields.
