It is reported that the Ministry of Health is making another attempt to buy a stock of meters for measuring the blood sugar level of diabetic patients without proper tender procedure by paying Rs.380 million.

Earlier, the Ministry of Health had made an attempt to buy measuring gauge stocks from an Indian company at a higher price under the Indian credit system, and it was stopped due to the leakage of internal information in this regard.

However, it is reported that all arrangements have been made to buy a stock of gauges again with government money from the same Indian company that had chosen to buy gauges and tapes under the Indian credit system.

It is said that the first time, one gauge and strip were ready to buy for Rs. 85, and this time they are going to buy one for Rs. 37.42.

According to internal sources, there is a serious doubt behind the Ministry of Health going to get them at a higher price, while it is possible to get a gauge at a price between Rs. 22-32 under open tender procedures.

It is also said that the Indian company that is going to buy this stock of gauges and strips is not a registered company with the Medicines and Regulatory Authority and it has been confirmed in India that its products are of substandard quality.
