The Criminal Investigation Department has revealed that Thilini Priyamali has taken work from two con artists and has spent between Rs. 100-150 million on those con artists.
This information is being revealed during the questioning of the people who were caught in Thilini’s fraud and the suspects arrested for allegedly aiding and abetting Thilini’s fraud.
The Criminal Investigation Department found that Thilini Priyamali had worked with Keerthi Kumara Bategoda, the Kapuwa of the Mataramba Hatharamaha Temple, and Krishantha Pushpakumara, a former member of the Southern Provincial Council, who is the Kapuwa of the Galle Bataduwa Sri Vishnu Temple, who were arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department in connection with an allegation of child abuse.
In this regard, Krishantha Pushpakumara says that he received a check for Rs. 3.5 million to be used for the development of his temple. But he says that when the check was presented to the bank, it became an invaluable document and there was only Rs. 35,000 in the account. He also says that he has that check.
