The Korean government has decided to provide financial assistance to the family of the Sri Lankan who died in South Korea in a stampede during a Halloween celebration.
The ambassador mentioned this in a meeting held between the Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena and the Korean Ambassador to Sri Lanka Mr. Santhush Woonjin Jeong.
A young man named Mohammad Jinath, who was a resident of Madihe area of Udathalawinna, Kandy, died in the accident.
He has been working in South Korea for 02 years and came to Sri Lanka 02 months ago and got married.
After the marriage, he returned to South Korea a month and a half ago.
On the 30th, more than 150 people died and many others were injured due to stampedes during the outdoor Halloween celebration of the dead in Seoul, South Korea.
