The P627 patrolling vessel supplied to Sri Lanka by America has reached Colombo today.

It was handed over to the Sri Lanka Navy today.

The P627 previously operated as the US Coast Guard’s Cutter Douglas Munro.

Mrs. Julie Chang, the American ambassador to the country, said that the vessel’s arrival at the port of Colombo was celebrated after a long journey from Seattle to Colombo.

She also said that the delivery of the vessel is expected to support Sri Lanka’s maritime sovereignty and further enhance US-SL shared values.
