Yesterday evening (31) a second year student submitted a complaint to Kiribathgoda Police that a group of senior students of Kelaniya University harassed him.
The second-year victim of bullying has submitted his complaint to the police and stated that he was on his way to the university gymnasium for sports training after the lectures yesterday, when he was stopped on the way by a group of senior students. He says that they blamed him for his appearance and told him to fully shave his hair and beard, wear slippers instead of shoes and not to wear wristwatches.
The complainant student also stated to the police that after he objected to it, the group of senior students took him to the canteen and three of them assaulted him on his face and body.
He also told the police that there were 7 students present at the time of the attack and although he did not recognize them by name, he could recognize them by their faces.
After recording this complaint, the police referred the student to the forensic doctor of Ragama Hospital. The police say that an investigation has been started to arrest the students who attacked him.
