The “Vavuniya Mandapaya”, affiliated to the University of Jaffna, will be renamed as the University of Vavuniya.
A special gazette notification has been issued to name the new university which will be operational from August 01.
It is said that according to the powers of the Universities Act, the Minister of Education Prof. GL Peiris has issued the relevant gazette notification.
