The Petroleum Products (Special Provisions) (Amendment) Act passed in Parliament has been enforced since yesterday (26).
Accordingly, the relevant gazette has also been issued.
According to the Minister of Electricity and Energy Mr. Kanchana Wijesekera, new retail suppliers will be allowed to enter the local market by the end of this year to sell petroleum products.
