A team of officers of the Mirihana Police has arrested a drug dealer who was distributing drugs on a motorcycle which was a case in the Mirihana Police Station.

A police sergeant who gave the motorcycle in the police station to the drug trafficker which was a trial-case item was also arrested and suspended from his work after investigations.

The information that drugs were being distributed from a motorcycle at the Mirihana police station was revealed as evidence during the investigation when a group of Mirihana police officers arrested a suspect with a stock of ice drug during a raid on the 14th, based on information received about a drug distribution racket from a motorcycle without number plates which is used to be a case item at Mirihana Police.

During the questioning of the drug trafficker, it is revealed that the motorcycle was taken into the custody of the Mirihana Police for a traffic offense 6 days before. Due to the fact that the motorcycle which was in the custody of the Mirihana police had not been released from the custody of the police at that time, further investigation revealed that the motorcycle was loaded into a lorry and stolen with the help of a police officer on the 9th.

It has been revealed that the motorcycle was stolen from the Mirihana police area by paying a bribe of 10,000 rupees to a police constable along with that officer. Accordingly, the constable has been arrested.
